This is such a well balanced filly in every way! A substantial mare shy of 15.2- she is by polish import TA Arapaho out of a Sporthorse national winning daughter of El Nabila B.
Oakley is well under saddle, tolerant of mistakes and imperfect riders; she has wonderful basics and a foundation that will serve her well in any discipline she chooses… she is national caliber for sport horse, dressage and western dressage, ranch riding and trail. She has hunter/jumper potential (we have free jumped her and she was cute) and likely would love to work cows.
Oakley is sweepstakes nominated and is a dream candidate for the ranch riding and trail futurities as well as the young horse dressage prospect incentive class. She’d compete in Ranch on an open level- admired by trainers of quarter horses and arabians alike for her fabulous rear end and slow footed easily balanced and beautiful gaits; she has all the buttons in place, just needs finishing –your way– to be perfect!
She has excellent manners- ground ties, solid ties patiently; crossties, bathes, clips without a twitch, loads and hauls well. Leads with respect and is easy to catch – friendly and curious without being in your face about it. She rides in a bosal; halter; snaffle or mild curb. She’s good on trails alone or in a group; likes people; gets along with other horses stall or pasture. No vices. She’s been well raised, always barefoot, super sound with great feet and legs and just about faultless balanced conformation. Thick and substantial without being coarse!
Started summer of her 3 year old year and well handled all her life; she has a fantastic foundation, trusts people, is confident under saddle and wants to please. She can rope and drag things, you can pony her or pony off of her, she hobbles, opens gates, sidepasses in tight situations. Leg yields, shoulder and haunches in, beginning flying changes. Half pass at a walk, correct turns on the forehand and haunches. Canters from the walk or halt. Stops on a dime. Rides with a rope around her neck. Can sit a while and ride off like it was yesterday. She’s had about 6 months of professional training, but mostly has taken the last year easy – no fault of her own, her owner was focused on other things. She comes in for tune ups every couple months and has been a gem every time!
She’s a tremendous mover with a lot of power from behind – she feels more like a warmblood than an Arabian but she’s very soft, supple and light to ride. Truly a pleasure!
This is the sort of horse that doesn’t come along very often … she’s the real deal!
We have trails and an indoor arena on site for you to give her a spin, and good hauling connections nationwide!
